This section of the NBY website contains important resources for the development of NBY leaders.
There are two roles within NBY's leadership framework. All adult volunteers begin as helpers. Those that are interested are encouraged to pursue the leadership track. This is designed to develop in them the Biblical characteristics required of a leader within the church.
Helper
Helpers play an indispensible role. Their job is to assist in the running of the NBY programmes, to take care of the youth and to be models of our mission.
If you are interested in being a helper, that's great. We can't get enough of them. There are a few requirements, however.
An NBY helper:
-
Is a Christian
-
Is a regular attender of Napier Baptist Church
-
Has completed a police vetting form
-
Has read and agrees with 'What we are about and why'
-
Has read, understands and is commited to the NBY mission statement
-
Has read and agrees with 'above reproach'
-
Has read 'leader qualities'
-
Is commited to serving in their role for at least a year
-
Faithfully attends all appropriate leadership meetings

Leader
Leaders do what helpers do with the added responsibility and priviledge of having a teaching role.
For someone to be a leader, they must fulfill the above requirements for a helper as well as being committed to completing the Leadership track outlined below:
-
Has become a member of Napier Baptist Church
-
Has completed all doctrinal material and answered the associated questions
-
Has read through the entire Bible using the Bible reading plan
-
Has completed the evangelism course
-
Has completed the 'how to study the Bible' course
-
Has completed the 'how to lead a small group' course
